Cassandra M Klyman is one of the more interesting women in the world. She is a distinguished and compassionate psychodynamically informed psychiatrist, an early researcher in dreams, a beloved teacher and current in cutting-edge somatic and medical management. She brings all this experience delving into the intricacies of the human mind and a profound depth of understanding to her debut novel, Beyond Sadness.

Dr Klyman is highly credentialled as a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Fellow of the College of Forensic Examiners, and the AAPDD. She served as a past President of the Michigan Psychiatric Society and was nominated as Woman Doctor of the Year at the Michigan Medical Society. In 2016 she re-located to California and established her current clinical practice and a faculty position with the Chinese American Psychoanalytic Alliance.

She relaxes with her family, enjoys opera, film, travel , swimming and, of course, books. She shares painting with her great-grand-daughter and wears and gifts her hand-made jewelry.
